| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this study, synthesis of elastin crosslinkers and COPD biomarkers desmosine and isodesmosine was achieved via a lanthanide-promoted Chichibabin pyridine synthesis as a key step. Isotopically labeled desmosines were also prepared for the use of an internal standard in LC-MS analysis of desmosines. In addition, preparation of cyclic desmosine was succeeded.
