Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In the Middle Ages, the Saxon-Magdeburgian Law, originally German municipal law, spread over the middle and east Europe. In this law system the group of so-called "magdeburgian alderman" played an important role. The structure and history of this group was examined in this study. The "alderman's trial register" of medieval town Halle, one of the most important historical sources of this law, is also examined and edited. Furthermore, in this project, the literature and sources about the legal history in the middle and east Europe are collected for the other studies in the future.
