Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
In the past one year, I have done mainly two things: first, I have been working on a literature review of academic research on the topics of global R&D management and Japanese global innovation theories & practices; second, I have collected and reviewed news reports (mainly from Nikkei Business magazine) and other scholars' case studies on Japanese companies in China. The main purpose of my work in last year was to prepare myself for a large sample survey which I plan to conduct later 2015. The review of academic literature, news reports, and case studies will also become part of a book (tentative title: “Innovation in China”) that I plan to write as the final output of my research project.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
I believe I have made good progress toward my final goal which is to write a book on innovation in China. Specifically, based on my work in the last one year, I have developed an outline for my book writing. I have also developed a preliminary draft of some of the book contents.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
I will continue working on the survey questionnaire design for the large sample survey that I plan to conduct later FY2015. I also plan to begin to write a book on innovation in China. To do these two things, I plan to travel to China for two or three times to conduct the survey, and to hire a research assistant to help me with the survey and book writing.
|
Causes of Carryover |
I need to conduct a large sample survey on Japanese companies in China. I also need to begin to write a book on innovation in China, which will be the final output of this research project. To do these two things, I need to visit China and to hire a research assistant to help me.
|
Expenditure Plan for Carryover Budget |
(1)I plan to travel to China three times for field visits to conduct the survey. (2)I plan to hire a research assistant to help me with the survey and my book writing. I will pay the research assistant monthly for 10 months.
