Outline of Final Research Achievements

The purpose of this research is to present conditions to achieve fair burdens or gradual reduction of NIMBY facilities. Web-based survey(2079 samples) reveals that the fair burden seems to difficult to achieve when the number of people who consider the facilities as danger is large.
Further, the people living near the NIMBY facilities tend to underestimate the risk of them and therefore show tolerance to accept new NIMBY facility.Such a tolerance is proved by the fact that Henoko residents, who already have Marine base nearby, are tolerant to construct additional Marine base(the Futenma Replacement Facility).
