電子波の軌道制御によるスピン量子回路の研究

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究課題では、強磁場中のGaAs/AlGaAs二次元電子系において電子スピンを電気的にコヒーレント制御することにより、新たな量子情報処理デバイスへの応用を目指した。特に量子ドット中に束縛された電子を量子ビット、量子ホール系エッジチャネルの伝導電子を飛行量子ビットとして利用することで、両者を結合させ電子スピン版の量子光学実験を実現することを目標としている。
本年度は、これまでに開発した高周波反射測定法を量子ホール系に適用し、高速・高精度で量子ホールデバイスのインピーダンス測定を行った。これにより従来から高精度な測定が行われていたインピーダンスの実部だけでなく、インピーダンスの虚部についても精密な解析が可能となり、エッジチャネル中を高速で伝導する電子のダイナミクスについて解析を進めることができた。
一方、量子ドットデバイスを用いて昨年度に引き続き電子スピンのコヒーレント制御にも取り組み、３電子スピンからなる量子もつれ状態をコヒーレントに制御・観測することに成功した。特に非隣接量子ドット中においても電子スピンの量子もつれを観測することに初めて成功し、電子スピンを空間的に分離して量子光学実験に利用するための道筋を示した。
また、量子ドットとエッジチャネルを結合させることにより電子スピンを取り出す実験にも取り組んだ。その最初のステップとして、量子ドット中の電子スピンをエッジチャネルに選択的に取り出せることを確認し、これが有効な電子スピン状態の読み出しに利用できることを見出した。
