今年度は「special でない Aronszajn tree が存在する」こととの無矛盾結果について集中して研究した。
「special でない Aronszajn tree が存在しない」ことは Todorcevic による Martin's Axiom の fragments のひとつである K_2' から導かれる。Martin's Axiom から「どんな ccc 半順序も productive ccc である」という公理 C^2 が導かれるが、C^2 から Martin's Axiom が導かれるかはまだ未解決である。よって「C^2 が成り立ち、special でない Aronszajn tree が存在する」ことが無矛盾であることを示すことができれば、この問題は解決する。
この問題については A non-implication between fragments of Martin's Axiom related to some property which comes from Aronszajn trees において、Todorcevic による Martin's Axiom の fragments の派生である公理 K_{<omega}(R) を導入し、「K_{<omega}(R) が成り立ち、special でない Aronszajn tree が存在する」ことが無矛盾であることを示している。K_{<omega}(R) は C^2 の典型的な反例の一種を壊すため、K_{<omega}(R) は C^2 の部分を導く。しかし全部ではない。K_{<omega}(R) では壊すことのできない C^2 の反例のひとつが entangled という性質を持つ実数の集合である。今年度の研究で「K_{<omega}(R) が成り立ち、entangled という性質を持つ実数の集合は存在せず、special でない Aronszajn tree が存在する」ことが無矛盾であることを示し、A non-implication between fragments of Martin's Axiom related to some property which comes from Aronszajn tree の結果を拡張した。
さらに、この手法をほかの強制法にも応用できることを示し、上記の結果をさらに拡張している。これらの結果は論文 The existence of a non-special Aronszajn tree and some consequences of the Proper Forcing Axiom にまとめ、投稿している。

Bagaria-Shelah は最近の研究で Todorcevic による Martin's Axiom の fragments に関する研究で新しいアプローチをとっている。彼らの手法をアレンジしてもっと強い結果を導くことを目指す。
