機能分離された多層構造を有する水分解用光触媒の開発と速度論的解析

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究はSrTiO3光触媒をベースとした機能性多層構造を設計し,現在広く使用されているRhドープSrTiO3よりも水素生成活性に優れる光触媒を合成することを目指した.2013年度は結晶性のSrTiO3をコアとし,LaRhO3成分にとんだSrTiO3シェルを形成させることでSrTiO3:La,Rh光触媒を合成した.水素生成光触媒としてSrTiO3:La,Rhを用いた粒子間電子移動による二段階励起水分解反応系はSrTiO3:Rhを用いた場合に比べて3倍高い水活性を示した.
2014年度(最終年度)は二段階励起水分解反応系の一層の活性向上を図った.光触媒活性を様々な条件で検討した結果,粒子間電子移動の効率が低いことが示唆された.また,粒子間の電子移動が進行するには二種類の光触媒粒子間に十分な強さの静電引力が働くことが必須であり,使用できる光触媒の種類や反応溶液が限定されるという課題があった.そこで,水素生成光触媒と酸素生成光触媒を同一の導電層に固定化することを検討した.
水素生成光触媒として本課題で開発したSrTiO3:La,Rhを,酸素生成光触媒として二段階励起水分解反応への応用実績があるBiVO4を用いた.導電層として金を二種類の光触媒混合粉末上に蒸着し,光触媒粒子と導電層の間に機械的強度と導通が良好な接合を形成させ,その後剥離した.SrTiO3:La,Rh,BiVO4,Auの全てを含む試料は粒子間電子移動を利用した粉末懸濁系に比べて5倍の水分解速度を可視光照射下で示した.また,裏面導電層を含まない試料は水分解活性が著しく低かった.このことから,水素生成光触媒と酸素生成光触媒を同一の導電層上に固定化することが二段階光励起水分解反応系の高活性化に有効であることが確かめられた.本成果は,従来の二段階励起型水分解反応系の問題点を克服するものであり,高活性化に貢献すると期待される.
