Outline of Annual Research Achievements

細胞の遊走は細胞外からのシグナルに応答してダイナミックに変化しており,このような細胞遊走は増殖・分化などの様々な生命活動において中心的な役割を担っている.ヒト幹細胞研究において,未分化・分化の制御は,最も重要な課題の一つであり,細胞遊走は,その制御に深く関与している.そこで本研究では,ヒトiPS細胞が持つ『未分化性』,『多分化能』といった優れた特性の仕組みを明らかにし,得られた知見を実用的かつ有効な培養システムの開発を目指した.さらに,育む技術として実用化を目指した培養面作成,ならびにその設計方針を確立することにより,医療用途の細胞を培養できるシステム開発を行った.
