Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We analyzed the data of the Miyagi AMI Registry Study during the period of 2008-2011 (n=3,937) to examine the influence of the Great East Japan Earthquake on the emergency care of acute myocardial infarction. In-hospital mortality of AMI patients was significantly lower in 2011 compared with the previous 3 years (7.3% vs. 10.5%, P<0.05). These results indicate that emergency care of AMI was improved soon after the Earthquake compared with ordinary times, for which improved patient delay and higher performance of primary PCI may be involved.
