Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this study, dynamic changes of metabotropic glutamate receptors (mGluR1 and mGluR5) classified into group I were monitored by using longitudinal positron emission tomography (PET) in Parkinson's disease (PD) modeled animal. PET imaging demonstrated that mGluR1 expressions, but not mGluR5, dynamically changed with progression of PD pathology. Hence, it was suggested that mGluR1 might be a new biomarker for diagnostic index of PD.
