Outline of Final Research Achievements

We investigated whether estrogen-related receptor (ERR) alpha influences epithelial-mesenchymal transition in uterine endometrial cancer. ERR alpha inactivated E-cadherin expression in one of endometrial cancer cell lines, however, it did not change the expression other mesenchymal markers, such as, N-cadherin and vimentin. Instead, ERR alpha stimulate VEGF expression and transcriptional activity leading to induce angiogenesis in endometrial cancer. These data suggest ERR alpha could be a novel target for the endometrial cancer.
