Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Expression of Adiponectin mRNA was not significantly different between wild type and klotho deficient mice. LPS-induced TNF-α production was not suppressed in the presence of Secreted α-klotho protein but was significantly increased in the presence of FGF23. Thus, FGF23 may have a function to promote TNF-α production independently of α-klotho protein. In klotho deficientl mice, excess production of TNF-α in wounds might cause delay in wound healing.
