Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this research, as a part of preoperative long-term ventilator management using a soft resin mouthpiece-shaped sprint (soft-splint) attached so as to cover the maxillary dentition, we planned as preventive measures against soft tissue damage of the tongue and lips. However, it was difficult to obtain consent for the subject case, and only one case of soft-sprint preparation use group of patient scheduled to be administered ICU after operation was able to acquire consent and complete. As a result, there was no occurrence of oral soft tissue injury during use of soft-splint in ICU. Although the original study scheduled period has ended, we will continue to conduct research on target cases that will be applicable in the future.
