Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
1.Researcher managed to complete “focus group” interviews with experts in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. He completed 3 interviews with 26 participants in total, from Institute of Regional and Strategic Studies, UWED (Tashkent) and AUCA and OSCE (Bishkek). 2.The researcher has also gained access to some important archival data in 2 countries. Some other literature and written sources were accessed during the fieldwork. The interviews in Kyrgyzstan yielded significant results since the country has been conflict-prone and had the history of ethnic conflict. The aim of these interviews was to examine the relationship between poverty and political insecurity. 3.Later the researcher had conducted interviews with non-regional scholars, particularly, some American experts at Stanford University and University of California in LA, USA. 4.These interviews and workshops were critical for the purposes of this research and its adjustment. Because of the number of received critical comments, the researcher decided to expand the scope of country cases (originally the research was supposed to focus on Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan) and include all countries of Central Eurasia. Also, the methodology of the research was improved by including the QCA. 5.In order to meet the QCA requirements, the researcher has also conducted a series of Skype and e-mail interviews with a total number of 37 experts from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan. 6.The research tool all necessary measures to protect the identity of interview participants and the data received from them.
