Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では、Bewley(1999)の近年の大規模なフィールドサ―ベイの結果を基に、新たな理論モデルを構築し、日本のパネルデータを用いた実証分析を行ってきた。平成26年6月9日、10日にドイツにて行われたIZA Workshop "Wage Rigidities and the Business Cycle: Causes and Consequences"において本研究を報告し、参加者から有益なコメントを頂いた。その後、IZA Journal of Labor Economicsに投稿し、Refereeからのコメントを受け、改訂作業を行った後、平成26年8月29日に"Why do wages become more rigid during a recession than during a boom?"という単著の論文としてIZA Journal of Labor Economics 2014, 3:6の学術雑誌に成果を出版した。
その後、賃金硬直性の研究を進め、"Optimal Combination of Wage Cuts and Layoffs: The Unexpected Side Effect of a Performance-based Payment System"という新たな論文を執筆中である。この論文では、賃金カットとレイオフの関係性に関して、企業の意思決定の面から、ミクロの理論モデルを用いて、企業が賃金カットを行わなくなる「閾値」のようなものが、賃金カットのマイナスの効果の指標において存在することを理論的に、実証的に示される。その指標に業績連動型賃金体系が影響していることを示し、同報酬体系を導入した企業が賃金カットの代わりにレイオフを行いやすいことが明らかとなった。この論文は、平成27年度秋季日本経済学会へ応募し、共著者が報告することになっている。
