Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study empirically analyzes the influence of structural change in corporate ownership in Japan. As foreign investors increase in the Japanese stock market, Japanese companies are assumed to emphasis more shareholders’ interests than employee ones which they have done in the past. And so, this study examines the relation between the ratio of foreign investors’ share and the employment adjustment. As a result, I found the following finding; where the ratio of foreign investors’ share is higher, the faster the employment adjustment speed is, however, industry characteristic could weaken this trend.
