Outline of Final Research Achievements

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is characterized by the presence of amyloid beta (Abeta) and tau deposition. It is revealed that Abeta plaques emerge first in progression of AD; therefore the blood-based biomarker to detect Abeta deposition is useful for early diagnosis of AD.
We performed screening of blood-based biomarkers in AD model mice that we recently developed by using 2D-DIGE and identified four marker candidate proteins. We are validating those candidates by ELISA and aptamer-based assay.
