Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Alzheimer's disease (AD) is characterized by the presence of amyloid beta (Abeta) and tau deposition. It is revealed that Abeta plaques emerge first in progression of AD; therefore the blood-based biomarker to detect Abeta deposition is useful for early diagnosis of AD. We performed screening of blood-based biomarkers in AD model mice that we recently developed by using 2D-DIGE and identified four marker candidate proteins. We are validating those candidates by ELISA and aptamer-based assay.
