Outline of Final Research Achievements

Plant microRNAs (miRNAs) can mediate the cleavage of their target mRNAs as well as the repression of their translation. However, the molecular mechanism underlying miRNA-mediated translational repression remains unknown. Here, by using an in vitro system prepared from plant culture cells, we biochemically dissected the mechanisms of miRNA-mediated gene silencing.
