Scientific Significance and Expected Research Achievements

日本の考古学はヒューマンセントリックな視点が強いが、北米で盛んになりつつある「考古資料による歴史生態学」という新たな学問領域を日本で開拓できることが期待でき、考古資料の有効活用という点でも意義がある。従来的な生態学にもインパクトを与えられるような研究成果が期待される。
