離散群の構造定理をさらに発展させた、極めて学術的独自性の高い研究である。これまでの幾何学的群論の延長ではなく、新たな構造や問題意識の発見を目指し、当該分野に新しい潮流を生み出すことが期待される。国際研究集会の開催が具体的に検討されている等、その波及効果、国際性ともに高く評価された。
