Scientific Significance and Expected Research Achievements	メタンの炭素と水素の同位体は環境中のメタンの起源を特定する上で重要な指標となるため、メタン生成過程における酵素に起因する同位体効果を実験的に決定する本研究は、学術的価値が高い。本研究で得られる同位体効果を入れたメタン生成モデルから、初期生命の細胞代謝とその進化の解明に貢献することが期待される。
