Scientific Significance and Expected Research Achievements

本研究は、凍土のライフサイクルを理解し、その一次元的解明を通して自然凍結と人工凍結の挙動を統一的に扱う工学的手法を構築する点において新規性、発展性があると評価できる。自然凍結以外にも積極的に人工凍結を活用する事例が増えているところ、本研究を通して地下掘削工事や凍土壁を工事として採用する場合の力学的メカニズムの解明に繋がれば、工学的応用も期待できる。
