Scientific Significance and Expected Research Achievements

本研究は光ピンセット技術とラマン分光分析といった最新の技術により紫外線消毒の原理を個体レベルの解像度で理解しようとする点で学術的意義がある。水処理現場において実際の紫外線消毒性能が期待値より低くなる現象に、仮説通りテーリング現象が関係しているならば、多くの国で行われている紫外線消毒の実務に資する知見を国際社会に発信できると期待される。
