Scientific Significance and Expected Research Achievements	半導体光触媒による水の分解反応において、水素・酸素が発生する過程（素過程）を解明するため、中間体や最終生成物の計測技術を開発し、これにより各反応機構を具体的に解明していく基盤的価値のある研究提案である。未だに解明されていない点が多々ある光触媒の基礎的分野において、確実に学術的な進歩が期待でき、独自性も高いと評価された。
