Scientific Significance and Expected Research Achievements

根圏や植物体内の微生物叢の解析では遺伝子情報のみに基づいて窒素固定の有無が推定されている現状から、安定同位体ラベルを用いた代謝産物の検出により窒素固定の仕組みを明らかにしようとしている。本研究の手法および成果は、農業において様々に活用できると推測され、研究の意義が高い。研究計画の大部分が具体的に示されており、実現可能性が高い。
