Outline of Annual Research Achievements

H29年度は,これまでの研究を踏まえ,研究項目(3)ホモ界面・ドメイン構造,(4)力学特性・圧電特性,および(5)原子・界面ダイナミクスの学理の構築を進めた.
(3)では,Ti-Ni系4元系でねじれを低減した合金を設計した結果,熱サイクル後の変態点シフトが200回サイクル後も1℃以下となる合金開発に成功した.さらにマルテンサイト状態で予歪みを与えたのちの形状回復温度のシフトも評価した結果,ねじれの小さい合金ほど形状回復温度シフトが低減されており,本設計法の妥当性が示された.また,Ti合金の応力誘起変態に伴うマルテンサイト界面の移動は結晶学的現象論から大きくずれており,相変態中のすべり変形が界面移動に影響することを示した.
(4)については,電気めっき法で合成した金・金合金の機械的特性を微小材料試験で評価した結果,従来のバルク金材料より8倍も強度の高い金材料が作製できた.この高強度は高密度ナノ双晶が大きな役割を果たしていることを示唆できた.圧電材料においては,強誘電体膜では引張歪により面内方向に分極が配向した膜が生成され,その後に分極が面外方向を向いた複雑な強弾性ドメイン構造が生成されることを明らかにした.また,正方晶膜では,時間分解XRDにより強弾性ドメイン壁が数十ナノ秒で移動することが明らかにし.さらに,従来作製が困難な{110}配向膜をバッファー層の工夫により基板種に依存する方法を確立できた.
(5)では,弾性率の第一原理計算とデバイモデルを組み合わせることで,相安定性の温度依存性を算出する方法を構築でき,これをTi-Nb-X合金やTi-Cr-X合金に適用することで相安定性の温度依存性を算出できた.これにより変態ひずみを最大化する最適な合金成分比率を求めることができ,従来を上回る形状記憶特性を示す合金組成の設計ができることなどを明らかにした.

Current Status of Research Progress

1: Research has progressed more than it was originally planned.

Reason

格子軟化挙動に関連したフォノンの第一原理計算により定性的な理解が進み,さらにデバイモデルという別のアプローチにより,相安定性の温度依存性の計算が大きく進んだ.その結果、Ti系で従来合金を上回る形状記憶特性を示す合金組成が設計できた.また,実際に,材料開発も進めることができた.TiNi基合金では,ねじれが低減されているだけでなく,加工性にも優れた実用的な合金を開発できるなど,いくつかの合金で特許を申請できた.また,チタン合金においては,マルテンサイト界面の移動に関する単結晶を用いた実験も順調に進展している.これに関連した変形中その場中性子回折実験は,研究当初は予想しない困難があったがそれを解決し,現在はJ-PARCで研究が採択されるなど想定以上に進捗した。強誘電体の界面ダイナミクスでは,面内に分極を有する新規ドメイン構造を発見すると共に,その生成機構を解明できた.従来遅いと考えられていた強弾性ドメインが電界によって高速応答することを明らかにした.さらに,従来作製が難しかった{110}に配向した膜をバッファー層を工夫することで基板種に依存する方法を確立できた.力学的性質については,ホモ界面の一つである双晶境界を数ナノレベルまで微細化できることを明らかにでき,これにより靭性も向上されることが明らかになった.以上の様に予想以上の研究成果が得られており,当初の計画以上の進捗があったといえる.

Strategy for Future Research Activity

本年度は本研究の最終年度であり,予定通り,全項目について研究を進展させ,特に,項目(4)力学・圧電特性を向上させ,また項目(5)原子・界面ダイナミクスを進展させ,これらを総括し,低ヒステリシス化,長寿命化,高速駆動化を達成するための条件を抽出し,形状可変材料の高機能化設計原理を追究する.また,これまでに行って来た材料開発もさらに進め新材料を見出す.個別研究としては,力学特性では,ナノ双晶材料の長期加振試験を行い,微細な双晶界面が疲労強度に及ぼす影響についても研究を進める.また,Au基形状可変材料の機械的性質を単結晶を用いて調べ,界面移動を明らかにする.圧電材料では,結晶構造に依存して強弾性ドメインの移動速度が異なるかどうかを調べ,強弾性ドメインの移動速度を決定する因子を明らかにする.さらに今回作製に成功した{110}配向膜も用い,強弾性ドメインの電圧応答を用いた巨大圧電性の発現を目指す.高易動度の材料については,ねじれが特性劣化に及ぼす素過程を電子顕微鏡的に解析し本設計法の妥当性を評価する.また,組織の熱サイクルにともなう再現性を評価し,特性の安定性と組織の関係を明らかにしてゆく.および,長寿命化に有効なねじれの大きさの範囲を定量的に明らかにする.応力誘起変態中のマルテンサイト界面の移動については,その場中性子回折実験を進める.理論的アプローチとしては,マテリアルズ・インフォマティクスの手法であるハイスループット計算を行い,形状可変材料の変態ひずみと相安定性の温度依存性の計算が合金によらない普遍的な設計手法であることを検証していく.また,これらの総括を進め,革新的形状可変材料を追求していく.
