Outline of Final Research Achievements

In this study, we focused on metabolic or phenotypic changes of cells in tumor microenvironments and searched for marine natural products capable of regulating them. Then, 10 bioactive natural products including 7 novel compounds were discovered. In addition, total synthesis of isolated bioactive natural products, study of structure- activity relationship by synthesized analog compounds, and evaluation of in vivo efficacy were carried out. Furthermore, for the purpose of exploring new drug targets, we analyzed the action-mechanisms and target molecule of bioactive natural products. As a result, the action-mechanism or target molecule of 5 compounds were clarified.
