Outline of Final Research Achievements

From the viewpoint of milk utilization, the logic of subsistence which pastoralism does not depend on milking was considered, "monogenesis-bipolarization of milk culture in the Eurasian Continent" hypothesis was examined, and the definition of pastoralism model was discussed during the research period. As the results, in the milk cultural area, the hypothesis was reconfirmed, and moreover "the monogenesis-bipolarization of milk culture in the Afro-Eurasian Continent" was proposed. In the non-milk cultural area, it became clear that "the non forcible separation between mother and her offspring animal - maintaining of the bond between mother and her offspring animal", "the difficulty of milking" and "low labor productivity" are the major factors that do not lead to milking. In the definition of pastoralism model, it was concluded as "subsistence which manage the animal flock and herd, control their reproduction, and use their milk, meat and motive power directly and indirectly".

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
