気体充填型反跳核分離装置を用いた最重元素の溶液化学

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

昨年度に引き続き，理研重イオンリニアックとGARISガスジェットシステムを用いて，248Cm(23Na,5n)266Bh反応によって107番元素Bhの長寿命同位体266Bhの合成研究を進めた．GARISによって質量分離された266Bhをガスジェットチャンバー内でHe中に捕獲し，KClエアロゾルととともにテフロン細管を通して核化学実験室に引き出した．ここに回転式連続α/SF壊変測定装置（SF: 自発核分裂）を設置し，Si検出器を用いて放射線計測を行った結果，266Bhのα壊変を新たに6事象観測することに成功した．266Bhのαエネルギーが8.6 MeV～9.4 MeVであること，また，266Bhの半減期が10秒程度であることが分かった．核反応断面積は，入射ビームエネルギー131 MeVにおいて約50 pbであった．
超重元素の溶液化学実験に向け，昨年度開発した連続溶液化装置の改良を試みた．従来装置は，長寿命核種については80%を超える高い溶液化効率が得られていたが，短寿命核種については約50%と低い効率であった．そこで短寿命核種の効率を増大させることを目指し，気液混合部と脱気部を改良した新型の連続溶液化装置を開発した．さらに本年度は，Bhの同族元素であるTcとReのRIを用い，フロー溶媒抽出装置の開発を進めた．理研AVFサイクロトロンを用いて製造した92,94Tc，181Reをガスジェット法で化学実験室の連続溶液化装置に搬送し，1 mL/minの1 M HNO3で溶液化した後，1 mL/minの0.01 M トリオクチルアミン/トルエン溶液とともにフロー溶媒抽出装置に送液した．分相器で有機相と水相を分離後，各相についてγ線スペクトロメトリーを行い，TcとReの分配比を導出した．内径0.5 mmのテフロン管で作った抽出カラムの長さを変化させて分配比を測定した結果，40 cm以上のカラムで抽出平衡に到達することが分かった．この結果から抽出分離に要する時間は数秒と見積もられ，本抽出系がBhの溶液化学実験に適用できることが分かった．

Reason

本年度は，連続溶液化装置とフロー溶媒抽出装置の改良，さらに液体シンチレーション計数装置の開発を行い，これらをすべて結合した迅速化学分析装置を完成させる予定であった．本年度は，フロー溶媒抽出装置の開発を予定通り進めることができたが，連続溶液化装置については，装置の改良に予定以上の時間を要し，目的の短寿命核種の溶液化効率を向上させることができなかった．一方，フロー型の液体シンチレーション計数装置については，検出器部分を試作したが，その性能試験が遅れている．

Strategy for Future Research Activity

平成27年度に継続して，248Cm(23Na,5n)266Bh反応によって266Bhを合成し，266Bhの精度の高い合成・壊変データを取得する．また，248Cm(22Ne,5n)265Sg反応によって，Sgの化学研究に利用できる長寿命同位体265Sgを製造するための核反応励起関数を取得する．連続溶液化装置の迅速化，高効率化を進めるとともに，本年度試作したフロー液体シンチレーション計数装置の性能評価を行う．さらに，SgやBhからのα粒子や自発核分裂片に対してパルス波形弁別を行い，各パルスの波高データを時間情報とともに記録するためのデータ収集系の開発も進める．連続溶液化装置，フロー溶媒抽出装置，フロー液体シンチレーション計数装置をGARISガスジェットシステムに結合し，SgとBhの溶液化学研究のための迅速化学分析装置を完成させる．SgやBhの模擬実験として，理研重イオンリニアックとGARISを用い，natGd(22Ne,dx)173W, natGd(23Na,dx)174Re反応によってそれぞれ生成する173W，174Reのオンライン溶媒抽出実験を行う．Sgの同族元素Mo，WおよびBhの同族元素Tc，ReのRIを用い，第6族，第7族元素に特徴的な興味深い化学実験系の探索を引き続き進める．これらの元素の化学種や錯形成定数などの基礎データを取得した後，SgおよびBhの化学実験に着手する．

Causes of Carryover

連続溶液化装置の開発に予定以上の時間を要したため，SgとBhの同族元素のRIを用いた模擬実験の内容を変更する必要が生じた．このため，模擬実験に使用を予定していた一部の化学試薬を年度内に購入することができなかった．

Expenditure Plan for Carryover Budget

次年度使用額分は，今年度できなかったSgとBhの同族元素のRIを用いた模擬実験の消耗品代に充てる．
