Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In order to understand long-term (decadal to millennia) ocean variability, this study conducted numerical simulations focusing on glacial climate by using various models such as atmosphere, ocean, and ocean carbon/biogeochemical models. The three modes of the glacial Atlantic deep circulation are especially focused: we tried to establish the method for performing the long-term simulation with appropriately reproducing these three modes, and conducted various sensitivity simulations for understanding the glacial abrupt climate changes known as DO events.
