Outline of Final Research Achievements

Paraplegia is devastating complication after thoracoabdominal aortic surgery. Bone marrow stem cell was cultivated using the microgravited (10-3G) culture device (Gravite). Bone marrow stem cell can be cultivated under undifferentiated condition by microgravitated clture device. Rat paraplegia model was made using simple balloon occlusion of descending aorta for 30min. Control group (serine), simple cultivated bone marrow stem cells and microgravitated bone marrow stem cells were injected into rat paraplegia model via tail vein. Bone marrow degeneration can be treated by injection of cultivated bone marrow stem cells.
