Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We conducted field study around the town Marble Bar in the Pilbara craton, Western Australia. We discovered the near-single domain exsolved magnetite in plagioclase in ca. 3.3 Ga granitoid. We quantify the magnetic anisotropy and remanence acquisition efficiency of the exsolved magnetite. We also measure ca. 3.5 Ga red dacite near Glen Herring Gorge. In contrast to the previous results, we argue that the potentially primary remanence should be restricted to the blocking temperature above 400 C.
