Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We conducted investigation to find the migration of stream organisms in the Iwaki River using stable isotopes and trace elements analysis. We found evidence that the populations in fishes and small mammalian which inhabited the tributaries of upstream of this river system were fragmented by artificial lake. But also, there were alternative evidence of spawning migration from the lake to upstream tributaries such as Ezo ugui, Tribolodon sachalinensis. The aquatic insects could also be isolated in each stream because we obtained no positive evidences in flight migration by analyzing concentration values of each element in their bodies.
