Outline of Final Research Achievements |
One of the major problems facing school education today is the dilution of the teacher-child relationship due the emphasis on scientific educational programs and educational planning. In addition, the growing excitement brought about by the development of electronic media and popular culture has created a tendency for actuality to be lost from the bodies of teachers and students. This research identified possibilities for physical education, namely (1) “reflective practice,” in which teachers and children collaborate in reflective thinking in the dimension of physical experience, and (2) “care of the self,” which involves reflecting on the self as a physical being. Such a model of education should enable teachers and children to regain their own bodies and acquire “knowledge” that retains a sense of reality.
