Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The present study investigated the L2 acquisition of English grammar by Japanese learners above junior high school. We also tried to provide theoretical explanations as to why L2 learners have difficulties acquiring certain grammatical items, and pursued what kind of external factors affect them. Specifically, we examined the following grammar items: argument structures, subjects, progressive -ing, irregular past, regular past, 3rd singular -s, negation, and wh-questions.
