Outline of Final Research Achievements |
A majority of Korean Chinese identify themselves as "Korean" nation with "Chinese" citizenship. These multi identities varies according to the relation with others. International labor migration of Korean Chinese to South Korea have experienced more than a couple of decades. At present, social segregation of Korean Chinese communities has been observed in South Korea. Due to international labor migration of Korean Chinese since 1990s, most of Korean Chinese' villages in rural areas have experienced severe depopulation. As a result, Han Chinese have replaced the agricultural labors of Korean Chinese in those villages and they have converted paddy fields to dry fields.
