I kept the project for an additional year to give me time to start the process of writing up my research with a view to eventually seeking a publishing deal. I needed to use the roll-over budget (4th year of the project) for translation costs (from English to Japanese. At present two and a half chapters have been produced and translated.I also organized a half-day symposium (open to the public) in January 2018 on the research topic and the wider issues associated with the process of European integration. The two other speakers were from Kurume University and Nikkei Shimbun. The event was also used as the annual symposium of the Faculty of Economics.
