Outline of Final Research Achievements

The difficulties of people living after leaving the children's care homes are　serious.
The purpose of this study was to clarify how they should be provided with in-care and aftercare.
As a result of the interview survey, listening to their life story, it was suggested that the experience of being supported by staff when they had were once at the children's care home helped them to survive. It was concluded that in-care should be important to enhance aftercare.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本研究は、社会的養護におけるケアを離れた人々の生活および自立に向けての支援のあり方について、当事者を対象とした生活史聴き取りを通して得た結果を考察した点に学術的・社会的意義がある。特に、被虐待等、人と人との関係性において不信や心の傷を抱えた当事者が、施設等のインケアにおいて、特定の他者との関わり―援助関係(虐待関係やコントロール関係ではない、安心・安全な関係性)―のもとに、「支えられた」という実感をもつ経験は、当事者の生、生活を支える一助になっていると考える。
社会的養護において、インケアとアフターケアを一連のものとしてとらえる生活支援とは何かを再考し、理論化していくことが今後の課題である。
