Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In the international community, the Western model has traditionally been regarded as the only standard for inclusive education. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to propose a new inclusive education model under the direction of Japan as an alternative option in the near future. As a result of this study, it became clear that the greatest feature of inclusive education in Japan is the flexibility that is common to all of its principles, systems and practices. In addition, it was suggested that the practice of inclusive education in collaboration with the local community effectively acts not only on school education but also on revitalization of the local community, especially local cities that are suffering from population decline. Japanese inclusive education is considered to be able to provide useful insights, especially to East Asian countries and also developing countries.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
