Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study empirically clarified the relationship between career prospects of university students and gender consciousness in contemporary society. Results of the analysis, from the questionnaire survey, as the female student graduated from the life course perspective, in recent years, the work orientation has declined greatly and the family orientation has risen. As a result of conducting and analyzing the interview survey, it was found that (1) influence of parents at home, (2) anxiety about compatibility with work, (3) acceptance of traditional male roles, and (4) distrust of men participating in childcare consciousness became clear. Thus, concerning the causes of young women's family-oriented increase, there is social unrest, such as the existence of persistent gender role norm from the previous generation and distrust of male participation in childcare. As a result, it seems to have a life course perspective such as "If I have a child, I want live in a family-centered way".
