| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
In Fiscal Year 2014 I started with the preparations for the project. I started some implementations of the proposed idea, but could not test them thoroughly yet. I am collaborating with colleagues (inside and outside the institution that employs me and inside and outside of Japan) who are expert in particle-in-cell codes and are providing useful help and suggestions for common research. We have tested the compatibility of data produced and inserted in finite difference and particle-in-cell
codes.

4: Progress in research has been delayed.
Reason
The project has been delayed because of lack of time due to additional duties imposed on me in the past fiscal year by the institution where I am employed. Furthermore, I could not find a suitable doctoral student (research assistant) to help in the coding and testing. This is also why I did not spend all the funds allocated for the past fiscal year. In the current Fiscal Year I plan to hire such a research assistant and this will speed up progress.

| Strategy for Future Research Activity |
The plans for the research scheme will not be substantially changed. However, this fiscal year I will probably have more time to work on this project and progress will be faster. As mentioned above, I have good prospects to find research assistant who may assist me in this project.

| Causes of Carryover |
There are two main reasons. First is that I could not find a suitable doctoral student (research assistant) to help in the coding and testing.
Then, I had to perform additional duties imposed on me in the past fiscal year by the institution where I am employed and so I could not travel to more than one conferences related to this project.

| Expenditure Plan for Carryover Budget |
In the current Fiscal Year I plan to hire such a research assistant and this will speed up progress. I will also have more time to travel to conferences related to this project.
