Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
In order to investigate high-energy particle creation and emission in astrophysical contexts where general relativity is important (the curved spacetimes of neutron stars, black holes, and their accretion discs), we have added to our previous finite-difference code solving the general-relativistic magnetohydrodynamics equations the capability of simulating the detailed dynamics of charged particles as in an advanced particle-in-cell code. With this, we are testing astrophysical models and scenarios. The final analysis of the results is still ongoing and it will published at a later date.
