Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
During FY2016, our work on the out-of-equilibrium dynamics of topological defects has been published in PRB, and has been presented at the main conference in our field, "HFM 2016" (poster). We have extended the idea to include interactions between topological defects to 2D models, discovering a new kind of classical spin liquids, entirely made of clusters of topological charges. Remarkably, this spin liquid is stable for a finite range of realistic couplings. This work is on arXiv (1702.03794), and has been presented in several talks in Japan, Europe and USA. We have also studied the evolution of flat bands in the topical breathing materials (arXiv:1610.01748), which has been presented at the JPS autumn meeting (talk) and HFM 2016 (poster). Application to quantum spins is on-going.
