Outline of Final Research Achievements

Doping of Sr and Ti in thermoelectric material Ca3Co4O9 enhanced dimensionless figure of merit ZT. EDX STEM experiments revealed that Sr and Ti substituted for Ca and Co in the rock salt layer, respectively. In Ca3Co4+xO9, ZT increased with x by the occurrence of stacking fault.
The doping of Sr in Ca2Bi2Co2Oy enhanced ZT by the substitution of Sr for Ca. By the substitution for more than half, ZT exceeded that of Ca3Co4O9.
HAADF STEM image simulations by Bloch wave method were applied to Ca3Co4O9. By comparing with the experimental images, Sr occupancies in Ca sites were quantitatively revealed.
