今年度は研究期間の最終年度であり、これまでの研究の成果を発表し、また現地調査において主に補足的な調査を行った。
須田は、2016年3月からバングラデシュのコミラ県の2つの村で実施している世帯調査のフォローアップ調査を、2016年8月に行った。この現地調査および世帯調査の成果は、2017年2月11日に行われた研究会（KINDAS：人間文化研究機構「南アジア地域研究」の第２回バングラデシュ研究会）において、「バングラデシュ農村経済の30年－コミラ県の二つの村の調査から―」として発表された。さらに、2017年2月に再度バングラデシュで補足的な現地調査を行った。
また、主に2014年度と2015年度にネパールで行われた現地調査の成果の一部は、二つの論文（須田敏彦「ネパールの海外出稼ぎとダリット―Dhading郡の一農村の事例―」『大東文化大学紀要』<社会科学>第55号、2017年3月、Toshihiko Suda. "The Roles of Foreign Remittance and Financial Institutions in Recovery from Nepal's Earthquake Disaster." in Social Transformation and Cultural Change in South Asia. Daito Bunka University. March, 2017として発表された。
原は、研究成果を「イラン農村部からみた移民・出稼ぎ・難民―東部ホラーサン地方の農村の事例から―」『大東アジア学論集』第17号としてまとめた。また、2017年3月にイランにおいて補足調査を行った。
こららの研究によって、南アジアおよび西アジアの農村部において広範な海外出稼ぎが起きている背景と、その意味が、一定程度明らかになった。
