Outline of Final Research Achievements

The resting 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG) was a predictive tool for atherosclerotic cardiovascular (CV) events in not only hypertensives but also non-hypertensives. In addtion, a combination of traditional risk factors and ECG leaded to the improvement of CV risk classification. Furthermore, The plasma B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP), the biomarker of future CV risk, had a predictive value of CV disease in addition to the ECG.
