Outline of Annual Research Achievements

Hetero-Vancomycin intermediated-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (hetero-VISA)はバンコマイシンが効かなくなる前段階の細胞集団である。この細胞集団の中にはVISA（VCMのMICが2μg/mLより大、もしくは≧4μg/mLを示すS. aureus）細胞が含有されており、この耐性細胞がVCMによって選択され、結果的にVCMが効かないVISA細胞集団のみへと選択される。前研究ではVISA細胞が0.012%含有されていれば、既存の方法のMICでもある程度検知できることがわかった。今回はさらに研究をすすめ、VCM感性株と≧4μg/mLの株を、Matrix- assisted laser desorption ionization-time of flight mass spectrometry（MALDI-TOFMS）で検出されるピークの差を比較した結果、≧4μg/mLの株に特異的なピーク（蛋白）を見出した。
