Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では，Mcps領域でX線フォトンをカウントしてエネルギー弁別可能なLSO-MPPC，YAP(Ce)-MPPC，LSO-PMT，YAP(Ce)-PMTなどのX線検出器に関する基礎研究を行い，カウントレートの増加とエネルギー分解能の向上をはかった。次いで，2つのエネルギー範囲を決定できるデュアルエネルギー（DE）フォトンカウンターを作製した。このカウンターは高速コンパレーター（COM），マイクロコンピューター（MC），周波数・電圧変換器（FVC）などからなり，COMを用いてスレッショルドエネルギーを設定し，MCを用いて選択されたエネルギー範囲のフォトンをカウントした。MCから発生する論理パルスはFVCで電圧に変換され，アナログ・デジタルコンバーター（ADC）を介してパソコンに入力され，断層像が再構成された。このDEカウンターを第1世代CTスキャナーに組み込み，ヨウ素（I）とガドリニウム（Gd）の造影剤が入ったファントムを撮影した。IとGdのKエッジエネルギーはそれぞれ33.2と50.2keVであることから，Kエッジよりもわずかに高いエネルギーのフォトンを選択することにより，KエッジCT撮影が行われた。
クアッドエネルギー（QE）カウンターは4対のCO，MC，FVCからなり，4つのエネルギー範囲を選択でき，このカウンターを用いてQE-CT撮影を行なった。撮影で用いたエネルギー範囲は20-33，33-50，50-65，65-100keVで，IとGdの造影剤を使ったKエッジ撮影が同時に行われた。
XCounter製の高速CdTeアレーを借用し，デュアルエネルギーCTに関する基礎実験を行った。アレーの空間分解能とフレーム速度はそれぞれ100μmと4kfpsゆえ，被写体の高速撮影には有用であった。また，I-KエッジCTにより，I原子を高コントラストで描出できた。
