申請者らがモデルとして確立した薬剤性先天聾モデルにおいて、聴覚中枢神経核の周波数特異性（トノトピシティー）が保たれるのか否かについて、電気生理学的手法を用いて検証した。その結果、先天聾によってトノトピシティーに変化が現れることが明らかとなった。
薬剤性先天聾モデルラットの蝸牛内に微小電極を留置し、下丘における電位の変化を検討したところ、正常動物に比べてトノトピシティーが不明確になる可能性が示唆された。

Reason
計画書で示した研究手順では２６年度に神経解剖学的手法で検討を行い、２７年度以後に神経生理学的に検証を予定していたが、順序を逆転して先に神経生理学的に検証を行い、ほぼ満足した結果が得られている。
