Outline of Final Research Achievements

Ptosis is increasing due to aging society. To decrease the complications such as corneal epithelial damage, we revealed the changes of ocular surface by ptosis surgery. Postoperative tear volume was decreased, espacially in preoperative high volume cases. Postoprative dry eyes were transient and most of these cases were resolved till post 3 months, supontaneous blinks were settled.
Functional epiphora is the disease of epiphora with good lacrimal passage. We applied orbicularis oculi muscle tucking for this disease and showed good results for the treatment of this epiphora.
